How we work
A heat pump is two jobs wearing one name. There is the equipment, the refrigeration lines and the drains. Then there is the dedicated circuit, the disconnect and a panel with room for the breaker.
Split between an HVAC company and an electrician, each one waits on the other, and the small parts nobody owns are where the week goes. We hold both Washington licences, so one crew does the whole thing. If the wiring is the larger half of your job, that side is set out on the electrical page.
The clearest example we have is a 5,500 square foot log home. Two Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat pumps feeding three air handlers, alongside the standby generator, the interior wiring and the trenching to the house.
What we install
Which one suits you comes down to what the house already has: ducting or none, a furnace worth keeping or one that is finished.

Indoor heads fed by an outdoor unit through a small line set. Nothing to run through the attic or the crawl space, which is often the whole reason to choose them.
Changeouts when the old unit is done, plus air conditioning changeouts. New ducting or a relocation of what is there, the thermostat, and the electrical to match.
Ductless
Ductless suits two situations. Older homes, where running ducting is impractical. And new builds, where a ductless system is one way to meet the energy requirements.
In an older house the obstacle is usually the building itself: no attic height, no crawl space worth the name, or plaster and beams you would rather not open up. A line set needs a three-inch hole through the wall. That is the difference.
One outdoor unit can carry several heads, and each head has its own control, so the rooms nobody uses are not being heated. We install them, and we troubleshoot them when one somebody else installed stops working.
Maintenance
A heat pump sits outside through every Pierce County winter and every dry August. We offer an annual maintenance plan for the people who would rather it was looked at before it stops.
The things that shorten a system’s life are dull and cheap to catch. A coil packed with cottonwood and lawn clippings. A charge that has crept low. A filter nobody has changed since the install. Left alone, they turn into a compressor.

Common questions
Usually, yes. A heat pump wants a dedicated circuit, a disconnect at the unit and room in the panel for the breaker. We hold the Washington residential electrical contractor licence as well as the contractor registration, so that half of the job is ours too.
Yes. A ductless mini-split mounts a head on the wall and runs refrigeration lines back to an outdoor unit, so there is no ducting to install. That is usually the answer in an older house where there is nowhere sensible to run a duct.
Yes. Changeouts and troubleshooting are part of what we do, on heat pumps, air handlers, furnaces and air conditioning. If you have the make and model to hand when you call, it helps.
